Bio

Ebed Pohl is an award-winning cinematographer, script writer, and director based in Wellington, New Zealand. Creating films since the age of 10, Ebed graduated from Massey University in 2021, and has gone on to work as the writer & cinematographer on the short film The Watson Journals, for which he has won 7 awards. In 2024, Ebed gained the Toi Pōneke Screenwriter’s Residency, where he is currently writing his first feature film, with mentorship from Robert Sarkies (Scarfies, Out of the Blue, Consent: The Louise Nicolas Story) and Vicky Pope (Gardening with Soul, Savage, Went Up The Hill).
